Conference to Examine Trends and Technologies for Boosting Productivity and Increasing Competitive Advantage
IRVINE, CA – July 27, 2009 – MoviMED (www.movimed.com) today announced its participation in the 15th annual NIWeek, the world’s leading graphical system design conference and exhibition hosted by National Instruments. NIWeek 2009 opens Aug. 4 at the Austin Convention Center in Austin, Texas, for three days of technical sessions, targeted summits, hands-on workshops and interactive exhibitions on the latest developments for design, control, automation, manufacturing and test. More than 3,000 engineers, educators and scientists are expected to attend the conference to see presentations and demonstrations that explore how engineers and scientists can use cost-efficient and flexible technologies to boost productivity and lower costs.
MoviMED (Booth #540) will introduce the first analog frame grabber for the National Instruments CompactRIO embedded real-time platform. The MoviMED “AF 1501” targets applications such as robotic machine vision, medical devices and industrial imaging applications.

A white paper submitted by Markus Tarin and Andre Kasper of Automation Technology, Germany, has been selected for presentation by the SPIE.
The topic of the presentation is: "Fuselage inspection of Boeing 737 using lock-in
thermography", Author: Markus Tarin, Co-Author: Andre Kasper from Automation Technology, Germany
Lock-in Thermography is a non-destructive testing method used in evaluation of defects in composite materials. Other application areas of lock-in thermography are e.g. inspection of solar cells or panels, weld seam inspection, detection of air inclusions in foam materials such as dashboard for the automotive industry etc.

moviMED's CEO, Markus Tarin, has been selected to present at NIWeek 2007, August 7-9, at the Austin Convention Center in Austin, Texas.
After a competitive process, National Instruments selected moviMED's Drug Eluded Stent Inspection System as a topic for presentation during their technical sessions at their annual NIWeek. The presentation will be part of a technical series highlighting National Instruments Vision Summit. National Instruments website will be updated with the schedule of the presentations as the convention date nears.

Tactical Surveillance System Gets Deployed to Iraq
The “Nite Hawk” is a tactical surveillance system equipped with long-range visible and night-vision cameras. The cameras are mounted onto a pan-and-tilt motion system that can be remotely controlled via ethernet link. After successful completion of the system, one has now been deployed to Iraq, where it will assist the U.S. military with securing the perimeter of a camp near Baghdad.

SONY Names moviMED as Integration Partner for Its Smart Cameras
SONY and Varigon, Inc., a SONY direct sales/OEM partner, have selected moviMED as their integration partner for their new Smart Camera line in Southern California.
SONY’s Smart Camera is compatible with National Instruments “Vision Builder for Automated Inspection” software. SONY is targeting machine vision and surveillance applications with their Smart Camera.
